WHAT ARE OUR AIMS?
The Greater Manchester STEM Centre offers schools and colleges in the Region high class enhancement and enrichment activities for their Science, Engineering Technology and Mathematics Teaching.
We aim to:
• Work with scientists, technologists and engineers to bring aspects of their daily work to the attention of young people.
• Increase interest in matters scientific, echnological and engineering to both young people and their teachers.
• Assist teachers understanding of the changing techniques used beyond the classroom.
• Offer interesting activities that increase the profile of Science, Technology and Engineering in society
• To present a coherent message to teachers and industry about the schemes and initiatives available to enhance and extend the key curriculum subjects of science, technology and mathematics.
• To bring about collaboration between the various organisations to influence more effectively the teaching of engineering related subjects.
• To ensure a more effective communication system for schools and industry.
The STEM Centre operates as a focus for teachers, business and industry to enrich the delivery of schemes and initiatives concerned with science, engineering, technology and mathematics.
