compare the Sun with other stars
Using scientific enquiry pupils:
consider how evidence about the solar system has been collected and interpreted
use models to explain phenomena

use data from secondary sources to answer questions about the solar system and the stars
Pupils will ask questions such as:
What is the cause of a year, a month, a day?
How do we see the Sun and Moon?
What causes the seasons on Earth?
What does the solar system consist of?
What is beyond the solar system?
The Earth and Beyond
This book is packed with projects and activities that are ready for immediate use, and aimed at fulfilling the requirements of the National Curriculum in England and Wales and the 5-14 Guidelines in Scotland.
It is the completely revised successor to the 'Earth and Space - Primary and Middle Schools'. New themes have been introduced and story telling and drama also feature.
There are expanded resource sections on books, places to visit and other sources of information.
Each activity gives practical ideas to 'get you going' and then some leading questions with which to open discussions with the class. Many of the activities have accompanying photocopiable worksheets.
